Possesses Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power System), UTM and B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, UITM. He is Internationally certified as an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE-02782/MY) for Electrical Expertise / Discipline. Furthermore, he is also certified as a 275kV Electrical Competent Engineer (JK-T-5-B-0006-2017) and as a 33kV Electrical Service Engineer (JP-T-2-B-0002-2016) and 132kV Electrical Service Engineer (JP-T-4-B-0002-2023) with Energy Commission of Malaysia. He has registered with BEM as a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (C115750), with MBOT as a Professional Technologist (PT210440014), a Member of IEM (43577) as well as an Ordinary Member of MySET (01618). He also holds Teaching Permit “Train the Trainer” (TTT/16563) from HRDF, Malaysia.

He specializes in large scale of Generators, Power Transformers, HV/MV Motors, Power Cables and Power System when working with Independence Power Producer (IPP) as Head of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Service and Technical Support Group Division. He has completed the high profile feasibility study and strategy proposal, maintenance and servicing of several High Voltage Electrical Equipment of Power Generation Division as well as Utility Plants in Malaysia.
He was providing his technical services with Independence Power Producer (IPP) Company with more than 14 years working experiences with last position was as a Head of Electrical Section (Maintenance, Repair, Reengineering and Overhaul (MRRO) based in Malaysia. Currently he is working as an Principal Electrical Engineer with local service provider and both of his service and competent certificates have been registered with Energy Commission of Malaysia stipulated under Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.

Mat Nasir Bin Mohamed is a distinguished electrical engineer with over 35 years of comprehensive experience in the power generation industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, and is a certified Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Additionally, he is accredited as a 275kV Electrical Competent Engineer (JK-T-5-B-0045-1998) and a 33kV Electrical Service Engineer (JP-T-2-B-0002-2021) by the Energy Commission of Malaysia.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mat Nasir has demonstrated exceptional expertise in managing and maintaining large-scale power generation facilities. His roles have spanned diverse types of plants, including combined cycle gas turbines, open cycle gas turbines, steam turbines, and hydroelectric systems. As a Plant Manager, he successfully led high-capacity power plants such as the Prai Power Plant (350 MW), Port Dickson Power Plant (440 MW), and Lumut Power Plant (1,943 MW), ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards.
Mat Nasir’s core competencies include power plant operations, strategic planning, and maintenance management. He has played a pivotal role in formulating and implementing effective maintenance philosophies, streamlining operational processes, and enhancing plant efficiency. Internationally, Mat Nasir has brought his expertise to projects such as the Independent Water and Power Producer (IWPP) plant and the Independent Water Expansion Plant (IWEP) in Saudi Arabia. As anExecutive Managing Officer for Samaomco, he overseeing the operation of 900 MW power plant and large-scaledesalination systems, contributing to critical infrastructure in the Middle East.
